HM Activities
Summer Encounters
We want to create a simple and fun atmosphere to help children grow from both the human and spiritual point of view. From the human point of view, the Servant Sisters, Brothers, and Priests of the Home help young people form themselves in values that will help them to become mature Catholic men and women in today´s society. From the spiritual point of view, they try to ensure that the young people understand the significance and need for prayer life and the fact that they should be striving for holiness every day.
Pilgrimages
These pilgrimages surpass any mere sightseeing touristic vacation. They venture into the undeniable truth of who one is and for what one lives.
He who comes on a Home of the Mother pilgrimage with an open heart realizes all this and receives so many graces. These pilgrimages help one to rediscover the meaning of one's life. They have already changed so many lives for the better.
Family Encounters
These encounters are attended by families, youth, Servant Brothers, Servant Sisters...in a family atmosphere where everyone feels welcome. It is a time to come together for mutual enrichment, reflection, prayer, and more. During these encounters, we deepen in our understanding of the charism of the Home of the Mother and there are talks and discussions on the various documents of the Catholic Church on the family and the role of the Catholic laity in society.
Holy Week Encounters
The Home of the Mother offers encounters during Holy Week with activities for the whole family.
The Holy Week Encounters began in Toledo, Spain. They were originally organized by a group of young people of the Home of the Mother who wanted to live Holy Week in an atmosphere of greater reflection and profound joy. As the Home of the Mother grew larger, so too did the Holy Week Encounters. Every year, more people come to spend Holy Week with the Home, attracted by the spirit of prayer and recollection.
Get-Togethers
The Servant Brothers and Servant Sisters of the Home of the Mother regularly organize get-togethers for boys and girls, respectively, in the countries in which they do apostolate.
Home of the Mother get-togethers are comprised of various activities and include times for fun (games, crafts, skits, movies, songs, sports, cooking...) and times for prayer and reflection.
Mission Trip
Each year the Home of the Mother organize mission trips for groups of young college-age students, giving them the opportunity to help with the projects that the Missionary Groups of the Home of the Mother (MGHM) do: visiting the sick, taking food to needy families, helping in the children's soup kitchens and on the Maria Elisabetta Farm, accompanying the sisters to give communion to the sick, etc.
This missionary experience also becomes an encounter with God. In the end, one realizes that one has received more than one has given, for the Lord does not let himself be outdone in generosity.
Retreats
The Home of the Mother offers periodic silent retreats, which give an excellent opportunity to listen to the voice of the Lord.
